Jewelry: Anything But Ordinary

It's always a labor of love to find new and exciting jewelry items! When I want to get the "full picture" of what's new, I always turn to shopstyle.com. Fabulous jewelry doesn't always have to be expensive to look great, as the pieces featured here attest. All of the Topshop pieces are under $100, as are the lace detail pieces from Rachel Roy. The Topshop, gold leaf, plate in picture five is a steal for $90! Such a great statement piece. It doesn't matter to me how inexpensive a piece is, as long as it has a good look!

I would love to see the actual necklace....I'm sure this picture doesn't do it justice!

Jen's Pirate Booty (topshop.com)

Marc Jacobs (nordstrom.com-the mix of gold and silver really makes it pop!)

Beth Lauren (maxandchloe.com-when I first looked at this I thought it was a choker, but alas, it's a gorgeous bracelet)
Juicy Couture (zappos.com)

Cute Stuff

Sofie D'Hoore (I love the loose, drapey design as well as the vibrant green)
Jacques Fath Vintage (I see Jackie O., audrey Hepburn or some other equally chic person behind these.)

Rick Owens (nice detail...it reminds me that I need a new denim skirt.)

Sharon Wauchob (I'm usually not a big fan of white dresses (more for stain reasons than anything else), but this one is quite appealing. I'm sold on the sleeves and the hemline.)

Victim (this is one fabulous dress....I love the back just as much as the front! It offers so...many styling options; great with heels or flats, or add fierce booties and a leather jacket for early spring and fall.)

Horace (aren't these great...they would look so good with the gold report wedges pictured below.)
Report (love, love, love these.....there is just something about gold metallic!)

Report Signature (this versatile sandal offers so many styling options.....they would work great with all of the clothing items featured.)

Scott Campbell for Louis Vuitton

New York based artist Scott Campbell was recruited by Marc Jacobs for the Louis Vuitton SS11 menswear.

Campbell tattooed LV logos all over the runway models necks and he also customized a number of leather bags.

No wonder Marc Jacobs uses Scott Campbell as his personal tattoo artist.

Wow....beautiful bags! Not that the classic Louis Vuitton handbags, should be compromised or marred in anyway, but I think that they should collaborate on a collection of fabulous bags....I'm sure they would be as huge hit!

Tom Ford Eyewear Fall/Winter 2010 Ad Campaign

I'm as taken with the vivid and vibrant clothing, as I am with Tom Ford's classic glasses! At the point that I'm relegated to the title, "a woman of a certain age," I plan to don a pair of glasses like those in picture four...I love that look!

What Was She Thinking!

O.k., let me start by saying that I'm all for self-expression, edginess and all of that good stuff in what ever form a person chooses, but I was totally taken aback by this picture of Jada Pinkett Smith from the BET Awards. Usually the picture of chic elegance, I just stared at it in disbelief. I know that we, as women, often tire of the same look and like to try different things, but this one, I just can't wrap my mind around! There are a few pictures of her floating around out there where she has taken "a walk on the wild side," but this is far and beyond anything that I've ever seen. It's not my intent to lash out at Jada, as she is one of my absolute favorite celebrities. Not only is she multi-talented, but she is one of the MOST intelligent women, which in itself can sometimes be a rarity among celebrities. That said, I guess I'm more disappointed than anything else. The hair (I have nothing against braids) was cheesy to say the least. I guess I can just sum it up by saying, "hated it!" My hope is that this was just a temporary lapse in judgement and that the, well coiffed and beautifully turned out Jada will return soon.

"Hot Child in The City"

If you've perused the current issue of W magazine, then you've run across these beautiful photos. I just had to add them to my blog, not only for the photos, but the clothes! The two Miu Miu dresses in picture one look like well preserved vintage pieces....I love them both! The setting of the shoot is also appealing...the "fashion forward" career girl striding about town turning heads as she enters or exits a particular high rise. Picture four is a "classic in the making"...head to toe Louis Vuitton; does it get any better!? That look is another where the clothing and accessories appear as they were borrowed for the shoot from some chic vintage clothing store. Lovely!
