Paris Footwear Trend: A Touch of Velvet (Fall 2011)

From lace-up boots to evening sandals, velvet works with all this fall. Roger Vivier, Dries Van Noten and Charlotte Olympia all tapped into the burgundy color palette. Blues were the look of the season at Kat Maconie, Gio Diev and Jerome C. Rousseau; the three young designers represented the full range of silhouettes: a fold-over combat boot, strappy evening sandal and a metallic-heeled pump. Pierre Hardy showed a bronze platform sandal, with blush and magenta intertwining serpentine straps, while Bionda Castana presented a rust-colored pump with stacked wooden heel that could easily transition from day to evening.

I love Dries Van Noten's sleek offering. It's a perfect example of the day to evening shoe. Pierre Hardy and Roger Vivier are also favorites....such lush, bold colors!
