T-strap Flats

After drooling over Valentino's "Rockstud" flats for so long, I set out to find something similar. Well low and behold, I found a pair that I absolutely love at my first stop (that usually doesn't happen!). Marshalls had just  added new styles and I happened upon the Rampage flats pictured below. They're quite impressive and look far more expensive than they actually were.

Due to the current trend, this particular style is in ample supply as an alternative to the ever present ballet flat. I've featured a few others from various sites.

Tian Yi Wears New Season Fashions for Vogue China by Stockton Johnson

That number five is truly a vision....impeccable styling!

New Season Style – Vogue China encourages readers to revamp their closets with its “Wardrobe Update” fashion feature. Local model Tian Yi stars in the spread wearing feminine fall and winter apparel from Celine, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy by Ricardo Tisci, and other leading designers. Stylist Camilla Wang selected the looks for the Stockton Johnson-photographed fashion editorial. The American fashion and beauty photographer snapped Tian against a simple background to put her delicate features and the new season styles in the spotlight. (Fashion Gone Rogue)

Jay-Z Collaborates with Barneys

With a little help from some "friends" on the high-end, Jay-Z offers us a little something different. Read on for more.

If you’re looking to give your loved ones a set of gilded brass knuckles this holiday season, look no further than Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter’s collaboration with Barneys. Following in the footsteps of Lady Gaga, who designed a holiday workshop for the retailer in 2011, Hova has worked with labels such as Proenza Schouler, En Noir, Rick Owens, Acne Studios, Lanvin, Balenciaga (above, top right), Balmain (above, bottom left), Hoorsenbuhs (who had a hand in the aforementioned ring, above, bottom right), and more to create a series of limited-edition products—all of which will be displayed and for sale in a special gallery in Barneys’ Madison Avenue flagship, beginning November 20. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds from the project, which the pair have dubbed A New York Holiday, will be donated to the Shawn Carter Foundation. We’ve got 99 problems (give or take), but, thanks to this team-up, holiday shopping ain’t one.

Curtis Kulig's" Love Me"

This collection of fun pieces will add a playful touch to a particular look....I'm thinking denim. Read on for more about Curtis Kulig.

Curtis Kulig is the artist responsible for the “Love Me” graphic, which you’ve no doubt seen scrawled across urban buildings. The phrase has wiggled its way into the fashion world, inspiring brands such as Nike, Lanvin, and DKNY, and now Kulig is reimagining his signature saying for Me + Mi—a new jewelry line, which, created by L.A.-based jewelry designer Mimi Jakobson and Kulig himself, launches today. “I always like to see what I’ve created in a new medium,” Kulig said of the 14-karat-gold-plated range. “I love objects, especially when they’re shiny and tactile…I’m a kid that way.”

To bring his artistry into the third dimension, Kulig turned his hand-painted phrases into inlays and dripping motifs. “It’s amazing to see something that flat take on so much dimension,” Kulig delights. “It all comes to life—all the processes that have been part of my work but are applied in a completely different context.”

The collection of gold-plated designs cast in Kulig’s signature script plays on the relationship between artist and designer, as well as where those two sensibilities meet. “I’ve had a long history of working with high-profile, strong women,” Jakobson says. “So it’s been so fun to experience a different dynamic in design with Curtis; he really trusts my feminine take on his art.” And for Kulig, working in design brought on a new set of challenges. “As a designer, in jewelry, fashion, or even technology, you have to weigh your ideas and visions against what the public is ready for.” Kulig hopes the masses are prepared for luxury and, of course, more love.
